Breakfast today was 200g of oats in water, microwaved for 2 minutes, and a scoop of vanilla protein blend mixed in.
OK I really need to go food shopping, so all my meals are just made up haha. But as long as I get in good carbs, protein and fats I don't mind the combination so much
So meal 2 was also my pre workout meal, and consisted of 100g plain couscous, 3 quorn Lincolnshire sausages, and 225g of baked beans, with some ketchup in the mix too! So it actually tasted ok, as I headed off to train legs and glutes. I also had a coffee with soya milk in
I got to the gym a little bit later, and it was much quieter, and got right onto the power rack for Squats. 1 warm up set, set 2 going heavier and it felt easy. Set 3 even heavier, and set 4 the same! I'm feeling much happier with my Squats lately, it's taken ages to get back into them properly, in fact I used to dred doing them, but kept going and going. I'm going to invest in a belt soon, and knee sleeves so I can lift a bit more. Then onto front squat which I hadn't done in weeks. I went right into it, doing 3 sets of 5, nothing to crazy. Next up was leg extensions, with pyramid sets, going up in weight each set, getting less reps, then lowering the weight each set and trying to force out the reps! Wow this was crazy hard. After I went into the leg Curl machine and did the same! Ouch haha.
My next 2 meals were exactly the same, and again completely made up of things I just had around the house. 75 grams of pasta (weighed dry), 300g Quorn Mince, a courgette, a red pepper, 3 mushrooms. I cooked it all up in fry light 1 cal spray, and then used a korma sauce to flavour it. So as you can imagine this was an interesting combo!
The reason I weigh my carbs dry is because when they are cooked they weigh more, but mainly as they absorb water. I find this much more accurate. Some foods I can roughly guess the weight, some like rice and couscous I use an old 40g protein scooper which is so much easier.
The meals were OK! But for a complete mishmash, they did the job
My pre bed meal 250g quark mixed with a bit of water, and 40g protein blend mixed in. Also 10g L-glutamine
